WebDAV Space Allocation
The WebDAV specification (RFC4918) does not have a protocol that allows for the available space to be reported back to Windows. To compensate for this behavior, Windows mirrors the drive allocation for for the system drive (typically "C:\") as a measure of used and free space.
For example, if your system drive has 100GB used and 80GB free your WebDAV drive will mirror this and show 100GB used and 80GB free even though actual used space and space available on the WebDAV mounted drive may be vastly different.
As user/system operations consume space on the system drive and/or WebDAV mounted drive - Free Space available on both drives will show as consumed. On clients with low space available on the system drive this can cause both drives to appear full at an expedited pace, even though there is still space available on both the system drive and the WebDAV drive.

- Zero-Byte files being created on WebDAV drive when moving, copying or saving files to the mounted drive.
Rebooting windows will allow the system to re-check the free space available on the system drive. This will also re-allocate the same amount of space to the WebDAV drive.
Follow normal recommended procedures to free space on the local system drive. This includes emptying the Recycling Bin, deleting unneeded files or program, and clearing browser cache.
Moving file to the WebDAV drive for long term storage is also an option; however, this my need to be done ins stages as a drive-limit may still be encountered. To accomplish this, move files to the WebDAV drive and then reboot to reclaim the system drive space. Repeat as necessary.
Adjusting the Temporary Internet Files disk space will force Windows to re-check and adjust the available disk space more frequently.

- 2.In the general tab of the "Internet Properties" window select the Settings button under the browsing history section.
- 3.Under the Temporary Internet Files tab of the newly opened "Website Data Settings" Change the "Disk Space to use" Field to a lower value.
